Master Key Systems

Create a cylinder system for your apartment building or company and free yourself from the burden of excess keys
Each of us carries an infinite number of keys, for house door, garage door, mailbox, gate, condominium door and cellar door.
The same applies to work, where a single person carries the keys to the office, the warehouse, the filing cabinet and many others, and it is necessary to keep track of the duplicates that have been issued.
Master key systems allow you to lighten your keyfob without sacrificing the security of your building.
It is a hierarchical cylinder system that allows you to decide which doors can be opened with the same key. So you can also use the front door key for the cellar door, the garage door, the front door and the gate of the apartment building.
In a company environment, you will have one key for each employee that can only open certain doors according to role in the company, and a master key that can control all accesses.
To be able to implement these systems, it is necessary to install Euro-profile cylinders that are designed for this specific purpose, such as Mottura's CHAMPIONS® cylinders.
In order to ensure the right flexibility and maximum security, each master key system consists of several components, which are combined in a customisable manner according to the specific requirements of each project.
A keyed-alike system is a set of cylinders with the same encryption, which can therefore all be opened using the same key.
For example, a keyed alike system in a block of flats could consist in front door, garage door, cellar door and mailbox of a single flat.
Common cylinders are designed to be opened with different keys.
In homes, they can be found in entrance doors and common spaces of apartment blocks, which can thus be opened by the personal keys of each tenant.
In companies, they are often found in the entrance doors of public buildings, which can thus be opened by individual employees with their own office keys.
When a master key system is implemented, this also allows the creation of a key that controls all the cylinders in the system (known as master key).
In apartment buildings it is usually not implemented, to ensure the security of each flat, whereas its function is extremely important in companies, where facility managers must be able to access each room at any time for security reasons.
In more complex companies with several premises throughout the territory (such as large supermarket chains), it may be necessary to create a different master key system for each of them, so that employees at one site cannot enter the others.
In order to ensure that managers are still able to access all locations assigned to them, it is also possible to create a general master key, which allows them to have control over all associated master key systems.
