Mottura Defender® are sophisticated armoured protection mechanisms that act as a first, fundamental barrier against the main burglary attempts against home doors.

Designs

There are three main categories of Defender®: mechanical, magnetic and electronic.

Mechanical Defenders®

Mechanical Defenders® are the most popular models. They feature a steel body and various protection mechanisms against break-in attempts by drilling, bumping and breaking the cylinder.

They represent the main defence for the cylinder and door security.

Mottura mechanical Defender

Height adjustment

Mottura Defenders® can be either fixed height (available in different sizes) or adjustable height, to perfectly fit different door thicknesses during installation.

  • Mottura fixed-height Defender

    Fixed height

    It is the basic Defender® model, with the body made at a fixed height and available in different sizes.

  • Mottura adjustable defender with spring

    Height-adjustable with spring

    This model is adjustable through a spring, which allows the necessary thickness to be reached to fit the Defender® body correctly into the escutcheon.

  • Mottura adjustable defender with ring nut

    Height-adjustable with ring nut

    This model is adjustable via a ring nut that is placed on the back of the escutcheon. The Defender® body is threaded and is rotated in the ring nut until the desired height is reached.
    This technology is patented and exclusive to Mottura.

  • Height-adjustable Mottura Defender with inclined planes

    Height-adjustable with inclined planes

    The body of this type of Defender® is made of two opposing ring nuts (one of which is fitted inside the escutcheon) designed with a special stepped profile, allowing high-precision height micro-adjustment.

  • Height-adjustable Mottura Defender with fixing screws

    Height-adjustable with fixing screws

    This model is height-adjustable by means of two screws connecting the Defender's body and the escutcheon. These screws can be adjusted using an Allen key.

There is a Mottura Defender® model for all main types of armoured door locks and for some particular models of iron grates locks.

Security levels

Mottura's Defenders® have increasing degrees of security that help define 5 progressive security levels, plus a “Outstanding” category that contains the innovative magnetic and electronic Defender®.
