What is a smart lock?
Smart locks can be controlled electronically via applications and softwares, without the need for mechanical keys (for example, our bTECHNOLOGY platform allows you to control all your Mottura smart devices via a single app, bMOTTURA).
So forget about endlessly searching for your keys in your bag at the front door or worrying that you haven't locked up properly when you're already out. Within the app, you can not only lock or unlock the door with a tap on your smartphone, but you can also control it remotely by connecting the smart lock to the bBRIDGE device. This allows you to check the status of the lock, see who has entered or left the house, and share virtual keys with your family, trusted individuals, and those who help you with daily household chores.
By adding accessories such as a numeric keypad, fingerprint reader or Bluetooth remote control, you can also use a simple PIN code to enter or press a button without using the app.
Smart locks can also be programmed to lock and unlock automatically at certain times, and the credentials you share with other people can be recurring or temporary and valid only on certain days and at certain times.
A smart lock for every need
There are different types of smart locks to best suit your specific needs.
If you have an armoured door or are thinking of buying one and want a high-security device, then a motorised smart lock such as bNOVA is the right choice for you. bNOVA locks automatically when the door is closed and can be fully controlled via an app, allowing you to receive real-time notifications.
bBLOCK is also a smart security lock for armoured doors, but unlike bNOVA, it works electromechanically: the central locking mechanism works with a key, while the app allows you to lock and unlock the secondary bolts for more security.
If you do not have an armoured door or do not want to replace your current Europrofile cylinder lock with a smart version, you can fit a motorised knob, such as bMOTO, to your door, allowing you to control your door via an app without having to carry out major installation work.
There are also smart devices that allow you to control other access points besides the front door, such as automatic gates, tilting garage doors or the main door of your apartment building. In these cases, you need to install a smart relay (such as bOPEN) that transmits the opening signal to these mechanisms, allowing you to control them via the app.
To remotely control all bTECHNOLOGY smart devices, you need to connect them to the Internet via bBRIDGE. However, this device does not just act as a bridge between your Wi-Fi router and your smart locks, it can also act as a relay (the same as bOPEN) by connecting via a dry contact to the building's intercom.
